MULL OF KINTYRE IS PAUL McCARTNEY'S LOVE SONG ABOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL PART OF SCOTLAND

Mull of Kintyre was written by Paul McCartney & Denny Laine and released by Wings as a single in 1977.

This music video, which accompanied the release, was recorded on Saddell Beach, Kintyre and featured the Campbeltown Pipe Band.

The single passed almost unnoticed in the USA, but in Britain it sold over two million copies and became the best selling single of the 1970s, outselling any of the Beatles' records.

Mull of Kintyre is a wonderfully evocative song and is as relevant to the area today as when it was first written.

Iain will be delighted to play the Mull of Kintyre at your wedding.

MULL OF KINTYRE

Mull of Kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of Kintyre
Far have I traveled and much have I seen
Dark distant mountains with valleys of green.
Past painted deserts the sunset's on fire
As he carries me home to the Mull of Kintyre.

Mull of Kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh Mull of Kintyre

Sweep through the heather like deer in the glen
Carry me back to the days I knew then.
Nights when we sang like a heavenly choir
Of the life and the time of the Mull of Kintyre.

Mull of Kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh Mull of Kintyre

Smiles in the sunshine
And tears in the rain
Still take me back to where my memories remain
Flickering embers growing higher and higher
As they carry me back to the Mull of Kintyre

Mull of Kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh Mull of Kintyre

Mull of Kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh Mull of Kintyre
