Caisealrag has to be the most romantic cottage on the west coast of Scotland, offering total privacy in warm and stylish surroundings.

Caisealrag has to be the most romantic cottage on the west coast of Scotland, offering total privacy in warm and stylish surroundings.

Caisealrag Cottage is fully licensed for weddings inside and out, all the way down to the sandy beaches and rugged coast. Chose your perfect place for your wedding ceremony when you arrive!

Getting here is simple. There are more flights from London to Glasgow than any other route in the world. If time is tight, it is easy to pop up from the south for just a weekend.

You can enjoy unlimited walking for miles around in all directions straight from the door. A short stroll away you are overlooking the Paps of Jura with uninterrupted views to the Isles of Islay, Jura and Gigha & the lighthouses of Rathlin Island.

A romantic Scottish wedding hideaway

As a romantic destination wedding venue in both winter or summer, Caisealrag Cottage at Crear is perfect for a couple with a king-size double bedroom & en-suite bathroom. The cottage sleeps six guests in total with four in the separate annexe.

Caisealrag is a traditional stone cottage built in the 1880s, we have sympathetically restored the cottage with an emphasis on comfort, warmth and understated luxury.

With a large open plan living area with warm stone floors, you can sink into deep squashy armchairs and relax and unwind in front of the wood-burning stove watching the vast expanse of ever-changing skies through floor to ceiling windows.

Sleep

The original stone cottage sleeps two in a king-size bed with en-suite bathroom. We would be happy to act as your witnesses, but if you choose to invite friends & family for all or part of your stay, we have two guest bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms in the annexe. We have two pop up beds for children under five if required & a travel cot for babies.

There is no single occupancy charge for your guests. The annexe is exclusively for your family & friends, however, please note that as it is entirely self-contained with a private entrance, it may not be suitable for children under the age of 14 sleeping alone. We suggest bringing a baby monitor. Dogs are very welcome if they promise to sleep in their own bed.

Your final choice of flowers can be made eight weeks before your wedding. A warm welcome & soup on the stove awaits your arrival. Wee Wedding Hair & Makeup

Please consider that at Crear there may well be more than a wee puff of wind so your hair needs to be firmly pinned or in a style that will only improve when windswept. What may work well inside where you are in control of the climate is not the style for a Crear bride!

The DIY option would be to have a professional make up lesson to discover what is the best look for you & invest in some luxury products that will last longer than your wedding day.

What to bring

If you plan to marry on the beach, flip flops in summer & wellies in winter are handy to negotiate the pebbles before popping on your heels! A brolly can also be handy.

In summer don't forget the sunscreen & your swimsuit. In winter we also suggest a wrap to keep you warm if your winter wedding is outside & long johns are a cosy option under your dress.

If you plan to explore the great outdoors, bring boots or wellies, binoculars if you have them, a bird book & an ordinance survey map, bikes, canoes, kayaks, surfboards, golf clubs ..........
